Avatar and TerraLargoSM earn Communicator Award of Excellence

The marketing department of builder-developer Avatar Properties Inc. and the company’s Lakeland community of TerraLargo^SM have been honored with a prestigious Award of Excellence in The Communicator Awards 2007 Print competition.

The international competition, which recognizes outstanding work in the communications field, honored TerraLargo’s^SM marketing campaign that included the community’s brochure, billboards and print ads that carried the theme and tag line “Visions of Tuscany…a Tuscan oasis under the Florida sun.”

Less than 10 percent of the more than 5,000 entries received Awards of Excellence which are granted to “companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry,” according to the West Hollywood, California-based Communicator Awards corporation. The 13-year-old Communicator Awards also includes audio and video competitions.

“We’re extremely honored to have received this prestigious award which recognizes the hard work and creative talent of our marketing team as well as the imaginative planning and creative design that went into making TerraLargo^SM a wonderful community to promote,” said Francesca Vereb, Avatar’s director of marketing.

The winner of the City of Lakeland’s Beautification Award in May, TerraLargo^SM is a gated community of Tuscan-style homes on 640 rolling acres overlooking 29-acre Meadow View Lake.

A 5,000-sq. ft. clubhouse is the centerpiece for an upscale amenity complex that includes a free-form, zero-entry pool and spa embraced by landscaped courtyards, a children’s playground, and boardwalk with gazebo on the lake where residents can fish and operate non-motorized watercraft.

TerraLargo^SM is planned for 618 single-family homes and executive residences with plans offering 1,462 to 3,162 sq. ft. of living area priced from the mid-$200s to over $400,000.

For parents with school-age children, TerraLargo^SM has gated access to neighboring Sleepy Hill Middle School and Sleepy Hill Elementary School, the latter under construction and scheduled to open this August. The schools are approximately 500 feet from TerraLargo’s^SM front entry gate.

TerraLargo^SM is located on Sleepy Hill Road, ½ mile west of U.S. 98 and the Lakeland Square Mall. To get there take I-4 to exit 32 (U.S. 98). Go north to third set of traffic lights at Sleepy Hill Road. Turn left and go ½ mile to TerraLargo^SM on the right.
