Avatar’s TerraLargo celebrates grand opening
December 14, 2006
Avatar Properties has unveiled TerraLargo, a master-planned community of rolling hills, Tuscan-inspired architecture and three furnished model homes on about 640 acres off Sleepy Hill Road.
During TerraLargo’s recent grand-opening weekend, nearly 1,000 prospective home buyers visited this highly anticipated community, says Francesca Vereb, director of market-ing for the gulf coast and south Florida operations of Avatar Properties Inc. Aside from being treated to free food, refreshments, entertainment and other activities, guests could tour TerraLargo’s model-home center and amenities complex for the first time.
Model homes include the 1,625-square-foot Campania and 2,033-square-foot Milano – three-bedroom, two-bath floor plans from Avatar’s Castello Collection. While each home also has a two-car garage and covered lanai, the Campania has a 14-by-18-foot greatroom, and the Milano features a 15-by-19-foot living room.
From the Palazzo Collection is the two-story Toscana model with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths in 3,162 square feet of living space. It also boasts a three-car garage, 333-square-foot lanai and 14-by-19-foot master suite.
The centerpiece of TerraLargo’s amenity complex is the TerraLargo Club, a building that spans roughly 5,000 square feet of space for recreation and relaxation. This facility has a reception lounge, kitchen, multi-purpose room, fitness center and children’s play-room. Outside is a deck and terrace with another 6,000 square feet that encircle a 3,500-square-foot, zero-entry pool.
A boardwalk meanders from the clubhouse to the lakeside boat dock, where ca-noes, kayaks and other non-motorized watercraft can be launched. There also are picnic areas and a covered cabana.
Upon completion, TerraLargo will feature six residential villages with 618 single-family and executive residences on 50- and 70-foot-wide homesites. Avatar offers 10 floor plans with about 1,400 to more than 3,000 square feet of living space priced from the low- to mid-$200s including homesite.
Tuscan-stone benches, fountains and plant-accented columns appear throughout the community, while trees and shrubs have been sculpted to mimic Mediterranean cypress trees. Moreover, a palette of ornamental flowers in yellow, red and pink accents the community as an homage to Italy’s Tuscany region. Its homes and amenities overlook waterways, nature preserves and 29-acre Meadow View Lake.
With a national reputation for thoughtful environmental planning, Avatar set aside more than 60 percent of this community’s acreage for open space, recreation and conservation areas.
Avatar Properties is the development arm of Avatar Holdings Inc., a public company primarily engaged in real estate operations in Florida and Arizona.
